This is the only "Einheitsfeldmütze" reproduction worldwide that is made to the actual World War Two pattern and not to the patterns used by the postwar West German Border Police. Only Lost Battalions M43 caps have the correct taper on the sides which provides the correct "high riding" appearance of the actual World War Two M43 caps. Only Lost Battalions M43 caps have the correct stiffened front, which allows for shaping the cap with the proper World War Two "Jägerpinsch". Only Lost Battalions M43 caps have the correct teardrop crown. Lastly, Lost Battalions was the first to include the strap loops along the bottom of the side curtains as found on original World War Two M43 caps.
